Blogmas Day 14: My Christmas wishlist

I wasn’t originally going to do a Christmas wishlist post, but I just been loving reading other bloggers’ wishlists, so I decided to make a post of my own. Even though I’m usually not shopping for a gift for that particular blogger, I always find myself getting inspired by reading their wish list. If you’re looking for other posts to inspire your gift-giving efforts, check out my suggestions for white elephant gift exchanges, my ideas for what to get your parents, some tips for gift-giving on a budget, and my post on how to organize a Secret Santa. To find out what I’m wishing for this Christmas, keep reading!

It’s Day 14, which means we’re about a third of the way through my 44-day #HBJblogmas, which just blows my mind! Be sure to leave me a comment down below with any ideas for posts you want to see before Blogmas ends.

{I’ve also included a lot of sentences formatted like this, which means it’s something I’d love you to leave me a comment about! Be sure to answer some of my questions, because I’d love to learn more about y’all.}

I love knowing what other people want for Christmas, so I figured I'd share my Christmas wishlist as part of #HBJblogmas this year! | BLOGMAS DAY 14: MY CHRISTMAS WISHLIST | HONEYBEE JOYOUS

T.J. Oshie hockey jersey

This is my big ticket item this Christmas and I think Santa’s got me covered. I usually try to ask for just one big/expensive thing from Santa and man oh man hockey sweaters are expensive. In the past year, I’ve become super obsessed with hockey. If you had told me that would happen at this time last year, I would have told you that you were crazy. I’ve never been one to get really into sports, but that definitely changed this year. (If you’re wondering how, don’t worry, I’ve got a post in the works all about how I went from somebody who never watched sports to someone who can’t miss a Caps game! In the meantime, if you want to become a Caps fan yourself, check out Russian Machine Never Breaks, the hockey blog my boyfriend writes for.)

The Washington Capitals are my favorite team and I’ve been able to watch nearly every game of theirs this season on TV. I’m hoping to be able to go to a game in person over winter break and if I do that, I definitely want to go in a jersey! It’s hard to pick a favorite player, but T.J. Oshie might be at the top of my list. Not only is he amazing on the ice (especially on the power play), he’s also got the cutest family, and his wife is an Instagram queen. Definitely hoping Santa helps me rock that #77 this Christmas!

{I’d love to know if any of my readers are also hockey fans! Leave me a comment down below and tell me your favorite hockey team.}

Fun earrings

I got my ears pierced for my 11th birthday, but in the years since I’ve never been that much of an earrings gal. However, recently that’s been changing. Maybe it’s because of my plans to become an elementary school teacher, but I’ve been utilizing my earring collection a lot more in the past few months. I’ve been telling everybody that I want some fun new earrings for Christmas and to let the elementary school teacher aesthetic inspire them!

Books are on my wishlist every year and have been basically since I could read. (Maybe even before because my parents read to me a lot when I was a kid — thanks Mom and Dad!) This year, I’ve been asking people to give me their favorite book from when they were in elementary or middle school. Over the summer I went on a re-reading kick and read a bunch of my old favorites (hello Cornelia Funke!). I love knowing what other people liked to read as kids and reading up on some elementary school classics will definitely be helpful for my future career, so bring on the books!

{What was your favorite book in elementary school? Leave me a comment and tell me books you think I shouldn’t miss!}

A blanket scarf

Blanket scarves have been popular for several years now, but somehow I still don’t have one. I always see my friends rocking them and they look so cozy and chic at the same time, which is an aesthetic I’m all about in the winter. This might end up being my Christmas present to myself this year.

Keds socks

I know socks are a boring present, but you can never have too many! My absolute favorite brand of shoes is Keds. I’m on my second pair of the classic white Champion Originals, as I’ve been loving this shoe since my senior year of high school. I’ve also got a pair of the Tournaments, which I managed to snag on a super sale for only $20 and I’ve been wearing nearly every day for the past month or two. I wear both pairs of Keds with no show socks. I have several brands of them, as I’ve been collecting no show socks since middle school, but the ones I always reach for are the Keds brand no show socks. They’re super high quality, work perfectly with my Keds shoes, and are really soft and comfortable. I could definitely use another set of these.

Bee-themed things

Last but not least on my Christmas wishlist is anything and everything bee themed. The name of my blog is Honeybee Joyous (obviously) and my personal brand has ended up being heavily bee themed. For my birthday, my friends found me some fuzzy socks in almost exactly the coral and yellow colors of my blog theme, and my aforementioned new earring obsession has been fed by finding two different adorable pairs of earrings with bees on them. I’d absolutely adore bee-themed, hexagonal, or yellow anything!
