I’m kind of weirdly obsessed with social media analytics (although I guess it’s not that weird of an obsession for a blogger) and so when I saw there was a feature that let you see your top songs and artists on Spotify I had to check it out!

Here are the results of whatever analytics test it runs on your Spotify account:

None of this surprised me all that much, based on what I would have assumed about the music I listen to a lot. I definitely thought I had listened to more minutes of music than that but then I realized that since my boyfriend has Spotify premium, when we’re together we always listen to music on his account. And over the summer, since I was driving to and from work a lot I mostly just listened to the radio.

As for the rest of my 2017 top songs, you can find the full playlist of all 100 of them here:

As you can probably tell, my music taste is kind of all over the map, from folk punk band Blackbird Raum to rock band Highly Suspect to John Denver and Cascada — and those are all in my top 10!

Also noteworthy on this playlist is “Tears Will Be the Chaser for Your Wine,” which is a song I only know because of the Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World and the last song that still made the list “If We Were A Movie” by Hannah Montana.

I’ve never been known for my exquisite music taste, but I’ve never been shy about it either. Music should be something that makes you happy and if that means listening to one song per artist per genre like me or if it means deeply appreciating “the art of the album” like my boyfriend, there’s no wrong way to love music!
