Blogmas Day 36: Friday Favs No. 5

It’s Friday and it’s still #HBJblogmas so you know what that means — Friday Favs! This week I’m sharing my favs in the categories of fav new lipstick, fav Christmas present, and fav blog post I read this week. If you haven’t yet, be sure to read Friday Favs No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4.-9

I’ve been absolutely loving doing this Friday Favs series for #HBJblogmas and I might even continue it after my blogmas adventure ends, although it might turn into a monthly favorites series. Let me know in the comments if you want to see these types of posts even after #HBJblogmas!

Lipstick

My wonderful friend Megan was my Secret Santa in the exchange we did among some of my very best friends this year. Part of the gift she got me has quickly become one of my favorite makeup products.

One day we spent around two hours having adventures in Target together and I said something about always wanting to try Burt’s Bees lipstick. I use their lip balm and I love it, but I’ve never bought a lipstick that costs more than $5 so I’ve never been able to bring myself to try it. Well, Megan remembered that conversation and when I opened up my gift, I saw a Burt’s Bees lipstick!

She got me the shade “Ruby Ripple” and I’ve been loving it! It’s an orange-y red that’s perfect for my warmer undertones and it goes on super smooth and with just the right amount of pigment. I totally love this and I’ll definitely be rocking a red lip for a while. Thanks Megan!

Here’s a picture of me rocking this lipstick along with a festive makeup look. This is the look I wore to Busch Garden Christmas Town with Brendan! You can find all the other makeup products I used in this post.

Christmas present

You might remember from my post about my Christmas wishlist that I was really hoping to get a hockey jersey. Well, Santa pulled through and I got a T.J. Oshie jersey and I am so excited! I’ve made my family sit through several Caps games on TV this winter break and I know they’re already tired of it. I’m just excited for when Brendan and I eventually make it to a game together and I get to wear my brand new jersey!

Blog post

The last thing I want to share with y’all for this installment of Friday Favs is a blog post I absolutely adored reading this week. It’s by Logan at Signed, Logan and it’s all about common mistakes people make when they’re working on their New Year’s resolutions. She even has a free printable to go along with it!

I loved this post because Logan seriously covers everything. She talks about things I love talking about — why you probably have a hard time sticking to your resolutions and why it’s important to make SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Timely) goals. And she also brings up something I love but have never heard before — your goals need to have a clear AIM (Acceptable Minimum, Ideal, Median).

Seriously one of the best posts on goal setting I’ve ever read! Give her some love here and let her know I sent you!
